The York County Planning Commission recently initiated a Complete Streetscape Study for West York Borough. The goal of the study is to help improve the aesthetic value of the Borough and to increase its economic development potential. West York hopes to create its own unique image within the greater York area.

The Redevelopment Authority of the County of York (RACY) was formed in 1964 by the York County Commissioners as a vehicle specifically aimed to redevelop blighted industrial sites and to forge innovative strategies for redevelopment throughout York County

York Habitat for Humanity is looking for veterans to help build a duplex for two of their own.
The build will start with a 12-hour house-raising event on Memorial Day, and the local Habitat is looking for 60 veterans to take part, said spokeswoman Miles Worden.


After 2011 saw a significant 10 percent decline in the number of homes sold in York County during the first quarter, sales in the county during the first three months of 2012 have returned to previous levels.
