Mid-Atlantic Ecological Landscapes
118 Pleasant Acres RD, York
The quality of water in our community has become increasingly important as efforts are underway for clean streams initiatives and improving the quality of the Chesapeake Bay. While much earlier construction practices rarely managed the quantity and quality of stormwater running off-site, today local and state programs deal specifically with how stormwater is controlled both community-wide and on a site-by-site basis.
York County has shining examples of best practices in stormwater management. The bus tour will highlight York County’s most innovative approaches with five different locations scheduled to be visited. At each site, participants will hear from local experts and the designers themselves on how the project was developed, the costs and the ongoing benefits of water quality in our community. The tour is the perfect opportunity for municipal officials, planners, developers and engineers to learn and share ideas on improving the quality of stormwater management in York County.
The tour is free but registration is required as space is limited. To register for the bus tour please contact Shanna Terroso at
shanna@YorkAdamsSmartGrowth.org or 717-843-7891.
The bus tour is being sponsored by the York/Adams Regional Smart Growth Coalition and the Watershed Alliance of York County.
